Awakening is the term used in the therian community to describe the process of realizing and accepting one's therian identity. At what age do most therians awaken?
There is no specific age for awakening. Many therians report awakening during adolescence, but some awaken in childhood and others in adulthood. The timing depends on individual experiences and when a person encounters the concepts and community that help them understand their feelings.
Can you awaken to more than one theriotype?
Yes. Some therians discover multiple theriotypes during their awakening, or they may awaken to one theriotype initially and discover additional ones later. This is known as being polytherian.
What if I'm not sure if I'm really a therian?
Uncertainty is a normal part of the awakening process. Many therians spend significant time questioning and exploring before reaching clarity. There is no rush — take your time to research, reflect, and connect with the community. Your experiences are valid regardless of where you are in the process.
